All main indicators of the transport industry at the end of the year reached the planned values, the growth was 7%, the volume of investments increased 1.6 times, reaching 1.8 trillion tenge.
The main efforts of the ministry were aimed at:
- acceleration of long-term road projects;
- development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route;
- strengthening the infrastructure of seaports;
- increasing transit rail freight transportation;
- increasing the capacity of border crossings on the Kazakh-Chinese border;
- meeting the growing demand for air travel.
As a result, travel on the Taldykorgan - Ust-Kamenogorsk and Astana-Almaty highways has been ensured, construction of the Kandyagash-Makat section has been completed, and the Usharal-Dostyk highway has been fully built. In addition, BAKAD was put into operation this year.
In the railway sector, 133 new locomotives and 275 gondola cars have been purchased, and construction of second tracks is underway on the Dostyk section – Moyynty, its own terminal was opened in the Chinese city of Xi'an.
During the year, 10 new aircraft were purchased, resumed and new flights were opened to 13 countries on 23 routes, the volume of domestic traffic was restored, the work of carriers was improved and the protection of passenger rights.
2 million 750 thousand tons of cargo were transported via TMTM this year, which is 64% more than in 2022. Oil was transported along the corridor for the first time this year.
To develop the potential of the route, the construction of a terminal in the port of Poti began, 2 oil tankers were purchased, a grain terminal was launched in the port of Kuryk together with Abu Dhabi Ports, an agreement was signed on the transportation of pure hydrogen and ammonia to Europe .
