Karkalinsk – one of the most extensive and remote areas of the Karaganda region. His main wealth is unique nature – mountain forest oasis. The region contains more than 90% of the forests of the Karaganda region, which occupy a special place in the development of tourism.

You can admire the eternally young Kazakh Switzerland only by getting to Karkaralinsk along the main highway of Kazakhstan, 921 km long.

The road begins north of the city of Temirtau and runs through the steppes of Central Kazakhstan. Of these, the total length of the highway of republican significance "Karaganda-Ayagoz-Tarbagatai-Bugaz" in the Karaganda region is 303 km. Belongs to the technical category of the road – III.

In order to ensure comfortable and safe travel to the tourist site, a medium repair of a 10.3 km section was carried out in 2022.  

In 2023, work was carried out as part of medium repairs on sections km 163-197; 207-217 with a total length of 44.4 km.  

As part of the project, work was carried out to recycle the base, install a new 2-layer asphalt concrete pavement, strengthen the shoulders and mark the roadway.

In addition, medium repairs with a total length of 68 km are planned to begin in 2024.

Thus, tourists will be able to visit the pearl of Saryarka in any season convenient for them along the repaired highway "Karaganda-Ayagoz-Bugaz".
