The maintenance of highways of republican and international importance is carried out by Kazakhavtodor LLP. This company was transferred to trust management on a competitive basis with subsequent privatization until 2022. Further maintenance will be carried out on a competitive basis on the principles of defect-free maintenance - payment for results, not for work. On toll sections of highways, maintenance is carried out exclusively from collected toll funds for travel along the toll section. It is planned to reduce the burden on the Republican budget for the maintenance of highways by organizing toll traffic on 11 thousand km until 2024.
